Course Curve

The last time I taught the course, we needed about a 3-point curve to bring the courses in line with the traditional 90-80-70 scale.  I'll keep you updated with this as the semester progresses.

Warmup Questions

We'll have daily required reading assignments before class. I'll ask you 3-4 questions about the reading each day.  Sometimes graded for accuracy, sometimes you'll get full credit just for completion.

These will be due at 8 a.m. on the morning of class, so that I have some time to quickly review your answers before class starts.  That will help me determine if I need to make quick changes to my daily class plan.  My advice, then: just do them the night before.

Daily Exercises

In a face-to-face course, we would have had homeworks, in-class lab-style work, quizzes, etc.  Online, we will put it all into one category.  The point values of the exercises will be weighted as necessary.

Three Big Assessments

These will be (take-home, obviously) exams, but even though they are "big" each of them is only 10% of your grade.  I hope that they will just feel like longer, more detailed homework.
