Our course will be fully online in Fall 2020; there will be no face-to-face lecture hall meetings. (We can still meet for office hours though!)
Yes. There will be two "live," but recorded, class meetings each week, at the scheduled times.
Not everyone will have reliable Internet access all the time, so no. The class sessions will be recorded so you can go watch them when you have a good connection. Or go back and watch them again. Whatever you like. There is no "attendance grade" in C105 -- I don't normally do that anyways.
We'll have at least one, sometimes two, assignments due every week. They will be based on what we talk about in class, what you've read, photos and videos I've asked you to view, and so on. I am working on a plan to combine quizzes, homeworks, and exams all into one pool of activities.
We will NOT simply have two or three big exams that determine most of your grade. No no no.
I want to help if I can -- whether we are online or not. This is the hardest part of going online. Unless you reach out to me, I may not realize that you are stuck or struggling with something. I will set up multiple channels for you to get in touch -- email obviously, Canvas obviously, and via text / GChat / Facetime / Discord / etc. too. You name it, we can probably do it.
This site is essentially just a landing page for the course during registration. After the semester begins, we will use Canvas as our resource area.
